Hi, I’m Jenn- and this is the post I wish I’d found when my body first started feeling off.
It started with a hot flash- one moment I was out to dinner with my mom, the next I was melting from the inside out like someone had turned on an oven inside my soul. My face and neck flushed, sweat pooled behind my knees (why there?), and my brain checked out completely. I laughed it off, but inside I was thinking: What is happening to me?”
What was happening, of course, was menopause. Or rather, perimenopause- that magical time where your hormones go rogue and take your sense of normalcy with them. The real kicker? I had no idea. No one talks about it in real life. There was no warning label. Just me, my wildly unpredictable body, and google at 2AM. I found lots of dry medical websites, a few forums full of panic, and some questionable advice on supplements. What i didn’t find was the thing I really needed. A voice saying “You’re not crazy. You’re not alone. And you’re going to be okay.”
That’s why I started this blog. Not because I have it all figured out (spoiler: I don’t), but because I think it’s time we talked about menopause like we talk about pregnancy, puberty, or literally any other major life transition.
Here, I’ll be sharing:
-My personal journey-The good, the weird, the emotional, the hilarious
-Tips and tools that have actually helped
-The stuff no one tells you (but should)
-Conversations with other women who are navigating this too
This is a space for honesty, humor, and yes- a little heat.
Whether you are here because you just had your first night sweat, you’re deep in the thick of it, or you’re on the other side wondering what the hell just happened-Welcome. You’re in the right place. We have been silent for too long. It’s time to talk.
Let’s do this-one hot flash at a time.
-Jenn
